Audit work

The firm is registered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants to carry out audit work, following the guidelines set out in the Auditing and Accounting Standards laid down by the main accounting bodies.

Our expertise in auditing stretches from very small private family companies and flat management companies to medium and large private companies, housing associations and charities, as well as unincorporated clubs and associations.

A thorough working knowledge of clients' business activities is paramount to achieve such relationships and we aim to provide the same level of service to all clients irrespective of size.

Staff are kept up to date by means of regular training and attendance at conferences and seminars. We use a system of working paper programmes, checklists and guidelines provided and updated by one of the country's leading authorities to ensure that our high standards are upheld.

Wide range of clients

The same standards are also applied to unincorporated clients in the legal profession and travel industry, whose accounts are subject to rules and reviews of their respective governing bodies. Our accountancy clients include a wide range of sole traders and partnerships of all sizes.

Auditing and accounts preparation can be carried out in-house or on clients' premises. As members of the Sage Accountants Club, we have the systems in place to load our mutual clients' disks direct on to our computers for working purposes. Following completion of the accounts a full debriefing session is held with the partner and client. Ideally we like to hold a pre-year-end meeting to plan the audit and to discuss other planning matters.

A personal service

The emphasis within the firm is one of personal service, and to that end there is more partner involvement in all aspects of our relationship with our clients than in some firms, and clients will only deal with one partner for all their enquiries. However, being a three-partner practice, there is always qualified help at hand to deal with urgent queries.
